Shanghai: 13th September 2013 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 22nd of September will see 20 cars from across the globe come to Fuji Speedway to contest Round 2 of the 2013 Asian Le Mans Series – 3 Hours of Fuji. All teams and cars from Round 1 in Inje will be present, including LM P2 winners China’s KCMG, France’s OAK Racing, GTE winners Japan’s Taisan Ken Endless, and GTC winners Italy’s AF Corse. In addition 11 SUPER GT GT300 cars will compete in a separate SGT class. The SGT class includes all of the top-5 teams in the current SUPER GT GT300 season: TEAM MUGEN, R&D SPORT, OKINAWA-IM RACING with SHIFT, GAINER, and LEON RACING.

After successfully completing a thrilling first round Asian LMS organisers are looking forward to what promises to be a hotly contested weekend of racing at this world-renowned racetrack in the foothills of Mount Fuji. With a significant rise in number of entries, and the high-profile of motorsports in Japan, the series is taking very positive steps forward in promoting endurance racing in Asia, in only its first season.

Asian Le Mans Series Managing Director Mark Thomas: “We’re delighted to be having our second race at Fuji Speedway. It is a great facility and is matched by our very strong line-up. We are pleased with what we managed to achieve in Inje and everyone involved is looking forward to building upon that success. Given the popularity of SUPER GT, and motorsports in general, in Japan it’s going to be a great weekend for the fans too.”

As well as Round 2 of the Asian LMS there will be racing from Lamborghini Super Trofeo, IP, 8 Beat, Freescale and Karting.

Tickets for the event will be for sale at the Entrance Gate booths at the circuit.
