IndyCar champion Ryan Hunter-Reay has joined Wayne Taylor Racing for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Hunter-Reay, 32, will line up alongside Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor, who are competing in the full Grand-Am Rolex Series season in the team’s lone Dallara Corvette Daytona Prototype.

“I am very happy to be joining Wayne Taylor Racing for the 2013 Daytona 24 Hours,” said Hunter-Reay, who has competed in the event six times and finished third in 2010. “This will be my seventh time here and I have come close to victory in the past with a podium. But joining this team and driving a Corvette DP alongside Max and Jordan should provide the best opportunity yet at competing for the overall win.”

Hunter-Reay, who was a Grand-Am race winner in 2007, will have his first run in the WTR car at the “Roar before the 24” pre-event test, which begins on Friday.
